Using AwayHome
You may use AwayHome only in accordance with applicable law and the applicable terms of the app store through which you obtained the app. Where local law requires a parent or guardian’s authorization for a minor to use an app or make a purchase, that authorization is your responsibility.
Privacy choices are described separately in the Privacy Policy. They are not a condition of using AwayHome’s local home-care features.
What AwayHome provides
AwayHome is a personal organization tool for residential properties you are responsible for but do not live in every day. It can help you plan departures and returns, work through checklists, record observations, track issues, and keep useful home information together in one place.
Version 1.0 works without an account and stores your records locally on your device. It does not provide professional home inspection, property management, emergency response, security monitoring, insurance, engineering, or legal services, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for deciding what inspection, maintenance, and professional help a property requires, for checking the accuracy of your own records, and for acting on urgent or safety-critical conditions. A completed checklist is not proof that a property is safe, code-compliant, insured, secure, or free from defects.
Contact a qualified professional, your insurer, or an emergency service when the situation requires it. AwayHome cannot and does not monitor a property, detect hazards, or guarantee that any reminder, record, or suggestion will identify every condition or prevent loss or damage.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- use AwayHome for any unlawful purpose;
- interfere with the app, its purchase services, or their security;
- attempt to misuse, copy, decompile, or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- store or add content that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.
Local data and device backups
Your home records are stored on your device, and AwayHome does not create a developer account for you. You are responsible for protecting your device. Removing the app, losing the device, or changing devices may make local records unavailable.
Your device may include app data in a device-level backup according to your device’s backup settings. AwayHome does not currently provide an in-app export or cloud-sync feature.
Subscriptions
One away home is available without payment. AwayHome Pro adds the paid features shown in the app and is available as a monthly subscription, annual subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase. The price, currency, and billing period shown by your app store in the purchase sheet at the time of purchase apply.
Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them in your store account’s subscription settings before their renewal date. Lifetime access is a one-time purchase and does not renew. You can restore eligible purchases from within AwayHome.
Your app store handles billing, cancellation, and refunds under its own policies. Canceling stops future renewal but does not ordinarily refund the current billing period unless the app store or applicable law provides otherwise.
Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms takes away the mandatory consumer rights you have in your region. Purchases are made through your app store, so the app store’s terms and refund process apply to billing, but the following statutory protections also apply where you live:
European Economic Area. Mandatory withdrawal, conformity and warranty rights apply where provided by law. Immediate access alone does not establish that you have waived a statutory withdrawal right; any exception requires the applicable legal conditions to be met.
United Kingdom. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described; you may be entitled to repair, replacement, or a price reduction. The 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts applies subject to the same loss-of-rights rule once delivery has begun with your consent.
Brazil. Consumer relations are governed by the Consumer Defense Code (CDC), including a 7-day right to cancel online contracts under Article 49 and general consumer protections that cannot be waived.
South Korea. The Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce gives you a 7-day right to withdraw from most online contracts, with limited exceptions for digital content that has already been used.
Argentina. Law 24.240 on consumer protection applies to distance and electronic contracts, including information and withdrawal rights.
If you believe a purchase was made in error or that your statutory rights were not respected, contact your app store for a refund and, where relevant, the developer through the app’s store support link.
Licence and intellectual property
AwayHome, its interface, text, graphics, and branding are owned by the developer or its licensors. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the app in accordance with these terms and the app store’s rules. You retain ownership of the content you create in the app, and we do not claim rights in your home records.
Availability and changes
We may update, change, or discontinue features to maintain, secure, or improve AwayHome. We do not promise that the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, file type, or third-party service.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, AwayHome is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that a checklist, reminder, record, or suggestion will identify every condition or prevent loss, damage, injury, or cost. The app is a memory and organization aid, not professional advice.
Where the law permits liability to be limited, our total liability for any claim relating to the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for a subscription in the 12 months before the claim, or to re-supplying the app. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the mandatory consumer guarantees of your region.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your country or region of residence. The standard end user licence agreement of the app store through which you obtained AwayHome also applies as described below.
Contact the developer through the app store’s support link to seek a resolution. Mandatory rights to seek redress through courts, regulators or applicable alternative dispute-resolution bodies remain available. The European Commission’s former ODR platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer a complaint channel.
This clause does not prevent you from relying on any right you have under the mandatory consumer law of your region, and it does not require arbitration where your local law would treat a waiver of court access as invalid.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app or applicable requirements change. The current version is the one published on this page. If you do not agree with updated terms, stop using the app. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms, to the extent permitted by local law.
